Updated: 2016-04-19

International Affairs Office of School of Management organized the Bama Tea Factory visit for overseas exchange students on April 16th. As the hometown of one of most famous Chinese tea-Tie Guanyin, Anxi County produces this kind of partially oxidized tea with the most difficult and time consuming processing method. Students are excited to have the opportunities to visit the tea garden, the modern tea production lines and explore the ancient tea culture.

In Bama tea factory, students enjoyed the Kungfu tea performance, and tried to make the tea under the guidance of tea performer. Then students picked the fresh tea leaves on the tea mountain, and learned the procedure of making Tie Guanyin tea comprises plucking tea leaves, sun withering, cooling, tossing, fixing, rolling, drying. In the ancient time it takes days and nights for tea farmers to repeat the process. In modern-day China, various machines have been developed and built, relieving the workers from much of their drudgery. Students visited the modern production line and deeply impressed by the production efficiency and effort saving. Then in the tea store, the tea factory staff shows students how to evaluate the tea quality and distinguish the tea categories. From a tea leaf to packaged tea, students experienced the whole procedure of tea production, the tea culture impressed them and they felt fall in love with the fragrant Chinese tea.
